William Lynn Heizer

William Lynn Heizer, 84, passed away peacefully at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville. As a young man, Lynn worked with airlines in Chicago and Washington, DC, and was also a driver for Fisher Auto Parts. Lynn’s primary passion however, was his farm where he raised dairy cattle for most of his life. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical & Reformed Church where he held many positions of service through the years. He was also long-serving member of many service organizations including the Middlebrook Ruritan Club, Riverheads Young Farmers, and served on the board of Farm Credit. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Darst and Trusie Estelle Heizer, and his brothers Robert and Jim Heizer. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Doris Ellinger Heizer and their sons, Edwin and his wife JoAnna of Quicksburg, Keith and his wife Cindy of Staunton, and Brian and his husband Danny of McGaheysville, in addition to his brothers Sam and Joe Heizer. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jamie Lynn, Jeremy, Jonathan, Brittany, Ryan, Bryce, and Brooke; and four great grandchildren Rylan, Jossalynn, Wyatt, and Gwyneth. The family thanks the staff of Shenandoah House, Augusta Health Center, and Dr. Marsh and his staff for all their kind care. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 in St. John’s Reformed Church Cemetery. (Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic all current guidelines and restrictions will be followed.) In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Shenandoah Hospice House, Young Farmers, or St. John’s E & R Church. Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
