Jessie Lynne Firmage
<p>Jessie Lynne Firmage, 79, passed away on January 18, 2021 in her home in Mesquite, NV. Jessie was born on October 22, 1941 in Fairview, UT to Cluade Arthur and Donna Peterson Sundwall. As a young girl, Jessie developed many talents in the arts. She was a talented artist, painting and sketching throughout her life, and developing skills in sculpting and pottery later in life. She also was a talented musician, and is still the youngest person to have played the violin with the Utah State Symphony. She married her high school sweetheart Russell Graham Firmage, on November 20, 1959 in Orem, UT, and they soon began to raise their family.</p> <p>Family became Jessie’s focus, whether it be hosting get-togethers on the lake, or following Russell on another crazy adventure to find ghost towns, Jessie lived to care for family. She and Russell acted in tandem, working together and having fun. She was the matriarch to her family. She made it easy to ask her for advice, and could relate any story into a message or moral. She was very smart, had a quick wit, and very spunky. She loved to discuss politics and current events, and was successful in business until her early retirement brought them to Mesquite, NV.</p> <p>Jessie is survived by her husband, Russell G. Firmage; her children, Terry Lynne (Gerald) Dodd and Russell Firmage; her grandchildren, Amber, Tyrel, Lindsie, Samuel, Katelyn, and Jacob; her fourteen great-grandchildren; her sisters, Claudette and Jeri; her siblings-in-law, Susan, Pam, Deb, and Rob; and a very large extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Donna Sundwall.</p> <p>A Graveside service will be held for the family on Saturday, January 23, 2021 2:00 p.m. at the Mesquite City Cemetery on Hillside, Mesquite, NV. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to consider a donation to the Mesquite Police Department or any First Responders of Mesquite, NV.
