Maurice E. Hightower

Maurice E. Hightower, aka “Mo” and “Skip” of Smyrna, Delaware peacefully slipped away at his home and went home to be with his Lord & Savior. He was born on February 9, 1940 and passed on January 18, 2021. He was age 80 at the time of his passing. He was a loving husband, father & grandpop. Mo was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Jackson and his son, Mark Hightower. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; dear daughters, Sue Guyman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Maureen Schruby of Mt. Holly, New Jersey; dear son, Stephen Hightower (Christine Hightower) of Riverside, New Jersey; grandchildren, Kristin Hightower of Riverside, New Jersey and Harrison Schruby of Mt. Holly, New Jersey; step-grandchildren, Andrew, Steven and Kim Neely; his brother, James Hightower of St. Petersburg, Florida; and numerous friends and relatives. Mo was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church of Smyrna. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 11 am at Old Drawyers Cemetery in Odessa, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Faith Baptist Church, 1575 Bryn Zion Rd., Smyrna, Delaware 19977.
