John Edwin Green
<p>Mr. John Edwin Green, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center.</p> <p>John was born June 21, 1931 in Forsyth County to James and Daisy Green. He served in the U.S. Army and continued to serve in the Army Reserves for 32 years, retiring as Sgt. 1st Class and Drill Instructor. He was a member of Clemmons Moravian Church, serving at the Love Feasts for many years. He volunteered for the Clemmons Fire Department, where he served on the Board of Directors. John loved to garden, growing a variety of vegetables throughout all the seasons that provided for the Green family and neighbors in the community. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Hutchins Green, sisters, Nina Thomason and Ruth Kuypers, and brother, James Green.</p> <p>John is survived by his daughter, Barbara Davis of Winston-Salem; sons, Johnny R. Green of Rutherfordton and Ricky E. Green and wife Amy of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Meghan Green, Jarred Green, and Abigail Burdick; sister, Ann Fearrington; and brother, Roger Green and wife Peggy.</p> <p>A private graveside service will be held.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Clemmons Fire Department, P.O.
