<p><span style="font-size:36px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Mary Catherine (Terril) Gatton, 90, of Zanesville, died peacefully at Genesis Hospice Care, Morrison House on January 18, 2021. She was surrounded by her loving family.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:36px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Mary was born at home in Zanesville, on April 25, 1930, to the late Elmer and Norma (Dozer) Terril.&nbsp; Mary and Lee were neighbors growing up and high school sweethearts. They were married on June 29, 1952. She worked several years at Big Bear and Thrift Drug Store, but her greatest joy was being a stay at home Mom taking care of their 3 sons, her beloved husband, Lee, grandchildren and extended family.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:36px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Mary enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and quilting.&nbsp; She was a faithful Lutheran all her life, committed to and participating in numerous church groups and activities. She and Lee are members of St. John&rsquo;s Lutheran Church.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:36px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Mary is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lee (Gee-Gee) Gatton, 3 sons: Mark (Susan) of Nashport, Dean (Caryl) of Westerville, and Tim (Debbie) of Millersport; grandsons she adored: Adam (Christina), Nich (Aimee), Andrew (Kim), Chris (Jessica), Alex, and Cameron; 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:36px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant son Kurt, her brother, Donald Terril, special Aunt and Uncle, Delma and Paul Dozer, and infant granddaughter Pamela Christine.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:36px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">&ldquo;And we know that in all things, God works together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.&quot; Romans 8:28&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:36px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Calling hours will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday January 20, 2021 at DeLong-Baker &amp; Lanning Funeral Home.&nbsp; A private graveside service will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:36px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Memorial donations can be made to Genesis Morrison House Hospice, St. John&rsquo;s Lutheran Church or Muskingum County Alzheimer&rsquo;s Association.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:36px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">To sign the online guestbook please visit www.delongbakerlanning.com</span></span></p>

Mary Catherine (Terril) Gatton, 90, of Zanesville, died peacefully at Genesis Hospice Care, Morrison House on January 18, 2021. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born at home in Zanesville, on April 25, 1930, to the late Elmer and Norma (Dozer) Terril.  Mary and Lee were neighbors growing up and high school sweethearts. They were married on June 29, 1952. She worked several years at Big Bear and Thrift Drug Store, but her greatest joy was being a stay at home Mom taking care of their 3 sons, her beloved husband, Lee, grandchildren and extended family.

Mary enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and quilting.  She was a faithful Lutheran all her life, committed to and participating in numerous church groups and activities. She and Lee are members of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
