Tex Barnes

Tex Barnes, 72, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. He was born in Reynolds County, June 25, 1948, to parents Dora and Ruth (Whitchurch) Barnes.

Tex was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He married Wilma Earlene Bartch on May 5, 1973. Tex was an insurance agent for over thirty years. He also worked for Yellow Freight, and International Hat factory. He loved to fish, hunt rabbit and deer and enjoyed BBQing. He enjoyed his beagle dogs. Tex loved his family, enjoyed watching the children play and enjoyed playing ball with them. Tex was ornery, but he had a good time. His presence will be missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Boy, Tim and Ralph Barnes.

Tex is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years; children: Brian Barnes and wife Kim of Gulf Breeze, FL, Jamon Barnes of Port Townsend, WA, Wendy Morris and husband Larry of Piedmont, Alicia Davis and husband Ryan of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren: Jack Puisis and wife Gelly , Andrea Barnes, Logan Morris, Lexi Morris and (Everett), Jazlyn Barnes, Jadon Barnes, Serena Davis, Camden Davis; great-grandchildren: Jaxon Puisis and Jase Carter; brother: Dave Barnes and wife Debbie of Belleville, IL; sister: Juanita Rust of Staunton, FL, Rita Casey and husband Carl of Hebrew City, UT, Nancy Mills of Annapolis. Tex will be missed deeply by his loving family.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 pm, Friday, January 22, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 23, 2021, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Burial will follow in Duncan Cemetery, Piedmont.
