Eric A. VanIten Obituary

Eric Andrew VanIten, resident of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. Eric was born on September 27, 1974 to Rick and Judy VanIten in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He graduated from Preble High School class of 1993. Eric married Natalie Duca on September 22, 2018 in Destin, Florida. He was the owner of Directional Drilling Services and E. VanIten properties for 20 years. Eric lived life to the fullest. You would often find him tearing up the racetracks in Luxemburg and Sturgeon Bay. He started racing in 1997 and won the Stock Car Track Championship at the Luxemburg Raceway in 2000, became the IMC Modified Rookie of the Year in 2002, and took second place in the Badger Modified Tour in 2013. He finished his racing career in late models in 2014. Eric’s love for speed wasn’t just limited to the racetrack. He spent the last several years rooster tailing it on the water catching bass. Not only was he talented at catching the fish, but he was also skilled at frying them up. He won multiple tournaments, finishing on top as the club points champion in 2020. If he wasn’t on the water or the racetrack, you would find him on his farm in Illinois hunting for the perfect trophy buck. Eric was an avid outdoorsman. He hunted in Montana, Iowa, and Illinois, always searching for that trophy buck. Eric was always on the hunt for that prize-winning bass or the trophy buck but was most proud of the catch of his life his wife Natalie. They met in 1999 and started dating in 2000. Finally, between working, racing, fishing, and hunting, they were able to make it to the altar in 2018. Eric would light up when talking about his daughter Taylor. He loved her dearly and beamed with pride when he was with her. She always brought a smile to his face and comfort to his heart. Eric always did his best and lived life selflessly. He helped raise families, and not just his own. He contributed heavily to every community he touched. Eric respected every hobby and discipline he chose to do, succeeding at every one of them. That respect and commitment displayed the pride he took in working hard and being a positive force to every life he touched, which has been too many to count. Eric will be missed by so many and the impact he made on earth will live on, continuing to impact and influence people for the better. Eric is the definition of a great husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife, Natalie (Duca) VanIten; daughter, Taylor VanIten; parents, Rick and Judy VanIten; brother, Chris and Resa VanIten; nieces, Madelynn and Maci VanIten; grandmother, Angie Piontek; father-in-law, Tony Novoselatz; and brothers-in-law, Nick and Mike Novoselatz; sister-in-law, Rachel and Scott Francois; and his niece, Chanel and Mike Lopez.
