NILSON FUNERAL HOME 573 474-8443 RUSSELL WAYNE HAVENS, 67, of Columbia, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. James Batye, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Nilson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Russell Wayne Havens was born March 2, 1946 in Columbia, the son of Claude A. and Lena Maude Sims Havens. He married Donna Walters June 17, 1967 in Columbia. Russell worked as an Electrician for University of Missouri for 25 years. He was a man who was very resourceful and could make anything that he needed. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his father, wife, Donna, two daughters: Melissa Pemberton (Bryan), and Alicia Gerling (Cory). One sister: Betty Kintner. Three grandchildren; Brooke Murphy, Emma Gerling, and Tucker Gerling. He was preceded in death by his mother, a son in law, Michael Murphy, one brother, Claude and two sisters: Patsy Hudnell and Mary House.
