Mr. Ollie Lewis Gaston, age 91, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021. He was born on November 11, 1929 in Taylorsville, GA, to his late parents; Noel and Florence Edwards Gaston. Ollie lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart and attended Lindale Church of God, which he enjoyed very much. Mr. Gaston was retired from The Department of Transportation for the State of Georgia, where he worked for 21 years. In his free time, he loved to fish! Mr. Gaston was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Vernon Gaston, brothers: J.C. Gaston and Claude Gaston and three sisters: Sue Herdman, Wilma Smith and Maudie Tomlin. Mr. Gaston is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Shirley Ann Holland Gaston of Rockmart, GA, daughter, Linda Harris and her husband, Joe of Taylorsville, GA, son, Ollie Eugene Gaston and his wife, Kathy of Rome, GA, seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. In accordance to the family's wishes, a private funeral service will be held for Mr. Ollie Gaston. Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Royce Turner, Glen Robinson, Colt Gaston, Mark Hughes, Michael Edwards and Duke Douglas Bennett.
