Mrs. Verl Casebolt nee Shirley Jean Schmidt of Comfort, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 14th in the Hill Country Memorial Hospital, Fredericksburg at the age of 79. Shirley was born on January 1, 1938 in Boerne to Chester and Erna Schmidt. She was married three times and widowed three times. Her spouses in order of occurrence were Tommy Daniels, Leonard Nelson and Verl 'Casey' Casebolt. Shirley is survived by three siblings and their spouses, Elan and David Rafferty, James and May Schmidt and Betty and Gus LaWare; six children and their spouses, Tommy Daniels and Kathleen D'Water, Mark and Sherrie Daniels, Linda and John Baker, Kim and Joe Aguilar, Jeff and Nancy Nelson, Donald Casebolt and numerous step-children through her marriages; 29 plus grandchildren and too many great-grandchildren to count. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her sister, Mary Schmidt, and three children, Erin Christine Nelson, Carl Ray Daniels and Debra Jean Scranton. Not only was Shirley a loving wife, mother, and grandmother but she was also an accomplished seamstress. She was the owner of Shirley J's, a sewing/tailoring business she launched in the mid 1980's. Shirley liked the simple things in life. Her final wishes were just as simple. She will be cremated with no viewing or services. The family has decided to do a Celebration of Life on February 26th at her home. The time will be determined at a later date.
