Mr. Pleas E. Hays, age 87, of Mansfield passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021.  He was born July 20, 1933 in Mansfield to James and Ruth Ewing Hays who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Hays was a mail carrier in Mansfield for 15 years, and together with his brother the late Dixon Hays they were dairy farmers.  He served two years in the United States Army, being inducted in Atlanta, he served in various parts of the country and overseas in Germany before being discharged in California.  Mr. Hays was preceded in death by his wife Bettye Odum Hays, and his brother Dixon Hays.    

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Freddie and Alma Hays of Mansfield, his son Ken Hays also of Mansfield, his daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Troy Eckhardt of Conyers.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, his sister-in-law Marilyn Hays, and a host of other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Hays will be held 11 o’clock, Wednesday, January 20, 2021at New Rocky Creek Baptist Church, 190 Rocky Creek Road, Mansfield, GA 30055 with Dr. Randy Reese officiating.  Interment will follow at Hays Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at J.C.
