'Barbara Jean Carter was born on March 10, 1941 in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi. She was known to many as 'Bo Hump' in her growing up days and even til this day. Barbara married her high school sweetheart our Dad Willie Alfred Dillon Sr. on September 16, 1961. To their union God blessed them with 5 children. Al and Barbara along with their children settled down living in Columbus Ohio after living in Mississippi and in Chicago Illinois. Barbara worked briefly as a Nurses Aid at Isabelle Ridgeway Nursing Home in the Mid 70s. Barbara loved planting flowers in her front yard winning a few awards for beautifulcation of our neighborhood. She loved her family dearly. Her favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas. Barbara loved cooking which brought forth her famous homemade biscuits! Her favorite singer was none other than Luther Vandross. Barbara was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and a faithful loving visitor of the Bibleway Church where she loved to hear the Bibleway's Mens Choir sing. Her favorite God scripture was Psalms 30:5, 'Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning'. Barbara most definitely loved the Lord Jesus and had a personal relationship with him . Barbara's smile and sweet spirit lit up every place where she went. Barbara departed this life being called home to glory on January 5, 2021 at Riverside Hospital just shy of turning 80 in a couple of months. She is preceded in death with her parents, Robert Carter Sr and Mildred Mitchell Carter. She is preceded in death with her loving husband of 49 years of marriage, Willie Alfred Dillon Sr. Preceded in death with her sister, Flora Mae Dixon and her brother, Robert Carter Jr. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her sister Helen (Luther) Goldbolt and her brother, Bennie (Rose) Carter. Her 5 children: Karen McDaniel, Willie Alfred (Debra Wood) Dillon Jr, Sharen Dillon, Christopher (Antonetta) Dillon and Michael Dillon. She leaves also to cherish her precious memory her 16 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren along with a host of Family and Friends near and far! Barbara would say to us if she could - 'I'm at peace now my family in the precious arms of my Saviour Jesus Christ and hand in hand with my loving husband Al. Live life, accept Christ as your personal saviour. One day we all will meet again, love Barb.  Visitation 11AM and Home-going services 12PM in the Chapel of SMOOT FUNERAL SERVICES, 4019 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio.  Interment, Green Lawn Cemetery, 1000 Greenlawn Ave., Cols., Ohio.  MASKS ARE REQUIRED
