Richard James "Rich" Huff, Sr.

Cumberland—Richard James “Rich” Huff, Sr., 80, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at UPMC Western Maryland. Born in Cumberland, MD, on April 15, 1940, he was the son of the late Madeline (Knittenburg) and Walter A. Huff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Duston Detrick; brother, Kenneth Huff and wife, Dorothy; sister, Dolores Gansler and husband, Richard. Rich attended Fort Hill High School. He was employed as a stone mason for Harry Robey, and he also was employed by many local service stations. Rich is survived by his children, Rose Detrick and husband, Mike, Mary Miller and husband, Marcus, Richard J. Huff, Jr., and Rev. Betty Watson and husband, Wayne; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Huff. At Rich’s request, there will be no visitation or formal funeral service. He will be interred in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rich's name may be made to Joseph Ministries Food Pantry at Souls Harbor Church, 1308 River Avenue, Cumberland, MD 21502.
