Obituary

James C. Haller, MILFORD, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, he was 86 years old.  Mr. Haller was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late, Walter C. and Emma Haller.

Mr. Haller served his country proudly in the United States Air Force for four years, stationed mainly in Greenland.  While in the service, he learned the trade of butchering.  Once out of the service, he went to work for Waldbaum's in New York as a butcher, and finally retired from there after over 40 years of employment.

Mr. Haller had many interests over the years.  He enjoyed playing pool and Polka dancing, and was quite good at both.  He like to fish, watch TV, and going to the slots.  In the summer time, you could find him taking care of his lawn and property, making sure it looked good.  After he had moved to Delaware, he briefly enjoyed going to the Harrington Moose to socialize and play pool.

Mr. Haller will be remembered as a kind hearted and down to Earth man.  He was always straight forward and upfront with you, and at the same time, give you the shirt off of his back.  He definitely had a big heart and loved his family very much.  They will remember and cherish his sense of humor and willingness to clown around and tell jokes, and his love for his dogs.  He will be sadly missed.

Services for Mr. Haller will be private and at the family's discretion in New York.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, please visit us at www.melvinfuneralhome.com to express or send condolences.

Psalms 23

A Psalm of David.

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.  2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
