Anna Lee Hunter Obituary

Anna Lee Hunter, age 94, resident of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

Born April 10, 1926 in Morehead, Kentucky to George and Vesta (Stamper) Jarrell she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life. Mrs. Hunter worked at the former Shelby Products and L&K Motel. She was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed growing flowers, collecting dolls and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Sally "Kathy" (Homer) Dillon of Galion; four sons, Douglas (Mildred) Hunter of Shelby, Lowell (Regina) Hunter of Mansfield, Rick (Carol Harris) Hunter of Shelby and Mike (Diane Ruby) Hunter of Shelby; her grandson, Jimmy Hunter of Dayton, whom she raised; 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; her brother, Lowell Jarrell of Shelby; sister, Ruby (Junior) Alfrey of Shelby; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two daughters, Patty and Shelly Hunter, three sisters, Velda Boyd, Essie Hicks, and Pearlene Jarrell.

The family would like to give a special thanks to granddaughters Teresa "Cuz" and Kelly for taking such special care of their grandma at the nursing home.

Private graveside services will be held for the family in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Barkdull Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
