Mr. Troy Michael Petersen, 50, a resident of High Point, passed away January 4, 2021 at his residence. He was born on June 15, 1970 in Anchorage, Alaska to Gene and Sherry Petersen. He worked for John Neil Bookseller as a shipping manager. Mr. Petersen graduated from Basic High School in Las Vegas and went on to business college. He was a poet and enjoyed writing. Mr. Petersen also was a renaissance actor who reenacted the sport of Jousting and was a certified scuba diver. He proudly served his country in the US Army, where was stationed in Korea. He is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Pansy Schanou; grandfathers, Cort C. Schanou, Sr. and Lee Upton; grandmother, Marge Upton; and uncle, Lee Petersen.

He is survived by his father, Gene Petersen and wife Shirley of Farmington, NY and mother, Sherry Fulton Schanou of Omaha, Nebraska; a sister, Trista Petersen of Grafton, WI; brothers, Zane Fulton of Omaha, NE and Ethan Petersen, of Farmington, NY; grandmothers Iona Schanou of Omaha, NE; aunts, Leatha Schott and Phyliss Sadler, uncle, Cort C. Schanou, Jr.  and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will be conducting a memorial service at a later date. Triad Cremation and Funeral Service of Greensboro, NC is assisting the family.
