Marilyn R. Steinmetz Obituary

Marilyn Rose Steinmetz (Neuman) found eternal peace on January 8th, 2021; reunited at last with her husband of 55 years, Donald. Marilyn was born in Milwaukee and lived in Wisconsin all of her life. She was a graduate of Messmer High School and Alverno College. Marilyn enjoyed her years as a maternity nurse, and later, as a volunteer to numerous organizations, including the Hartford Public Library. Marilyn would say her happiest years were spent living on the farm in the town of Erin. As many of you know, she was not a fan of winter weather, but loved the summer, her garden, flowers, eating ice cream, wearing flip-flops, and “digging in the mud”. Marilyn was preceded in death by her high-school sweetheart and husband Donald, and her son Joel. She is survived by her children: James (Jane), Donna, Tom (Laura) and Eric (Sarah); her grandchildren: Heather, Jamie, Jenny, Jenna, Sean, Clayton, Colton, Nya, Jordyn and Areyn; her great-grandchildren: Thea and January. A memorial visitation will take place at Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford, on Wednesday, January 20 from 4 pm until time of memorial service at 6 pm. Private interment.
