Born and raised in Bayonne, NJ, Phyllis was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and of St. Peter’s College, both in Jersey City, NJ . She worked for Colgate Palmolive and Western Electric before shifting her focus to raise a family. Shortly after marriage, Phyllis moved to Maplewood, NJ, permanently moving with her family to Sea Girt in 1987 after spending many summers there. In 1999, Phyllis moved to Brielle. Phyllis was an avid cook and never disappointed with her dishes, especially her Christmas cheeseballs. An ardent walker, Phyllis loved to walk the boardwalks and the neighborhoods of Brielle. Always stylish, Phyllis resumed her love of jewelry making after retiring from the role of Administrative Assistant for Wall Township in 2014. She continued to work for Wall Township by serving as secretary for the SMUA board until August 2020. Phyllis was a devoted mom, and to her four daughters, she was their rock… their toughest critic and strongest champion. Phyllis is survived by her daughter Karen Coyle and husband Lee Coyle (Baltimore, MD), her daughter Michele Heinle (Brielle, NJ), her daughter Norah Forsythe (Manasquan, NJ), and daughter Lauren Greeley and husband Tim Greeley (Pt Pleasant, NJ) - as well as by seven grandchildren: Jaden, Natalie, and Mathew Coyle; Jack and Chloe Forsythe; and Olivia and Madeline Greeley. A Memorial Visitation will be held January 17, 2021 from 2 pm - 4 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan NJ. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:30 pm.
