Ian Kenneth Macdonald Obituary

Ian Kenneth Macdonald (5/3/1935 - 1/13/21) returned home to the Lord on January 13, 2021. Ian served our country in the United States Marine Corp from 1954 to 1957 rising to the rank of Sergeant and receiving the Good Conduct Ribbon upon his honorable discharge. A long time parishioner of Holy Family Church in New Rochelle, New York he was committed to promoting the message of Divine Mercy. Ian supplied hundreds of Saint Faustina Diaries and prayer cards to various Churches in New Rochelle and beyond. He cared for those in need via his many years of work with ambulette services. Almost all of his earning were routinely donated to various charitable organizations. A talented artist who also dabbled in wood-working, he was well read and multi-lingual. Ian was always ready with a litany of jokes to brighten up the day. his cheerful style and caring heart will be greatly missed by his many friends and acquaintances.
Ian is pre-deceased by his father Dr. Aildred Macdonald, his mother Julia R. Fernane, RN , and his sister Mary Byrnes.
A memorial service will be held Saturday February 5, 2022 at 9:30am at Holy Family Church. Interment of cremains to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Ian asked that his obituary conclude with the following quote: "JEZU UFAM TOBIE" (JESUS I TRUST IN YOU).
