Janice Lee Dick Obituary

Janice Lee (Simmons) Dick, age 82, of Wadsworth. On Friday, 2021 day 8 God wrapped her in his loving arms and called her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She was born October 22, 1938 in Covington, VA to the late Berlin “BL” and  T. Madeline “Midge” (Tingler) Simmons. She leaves this earth to celebrate and rejoice in heaven with husband, Delbert “Bill” Dick; brother, Gary Simmons; sister, Carol Ann Cleary; grandmother, Lillie Mae; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Janice will be dearly missed and is survived by her sons, Michael True (Amy) of Brunswick GA, Mark True (Christinia) of Roselle IL; daughters, Lori True of Wadsworth,

Cris Emerson (Allan) and Jeanne Perry (Troy) both of Rittman; brother, Denny Simmons (Janice); sister-in-law, Diane Simmons; 12 grandchildren: Mike King, Bill and Brandon True, Michele English, Phillip, Kolton, Kyle and Mark Jr. True, Joseph Emerson, Katelyn Hancock, Madeline and Samantha Perry; 10 great- grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Janice grew up in Copley, OH, graduated in 1957, married young and stayed in the Wadsworth, Seville and Rittman area. Janice loved the Lord & enjoyed raising her 5 children. She worked 18 years between Family Drug and Ritzman Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician, later part time at a grocery store in Doylestown and Acme foods in Norton. Although, she said the best job she had was driving the granny bus for the grandkids.

Her favorite memories were family time at Cooks Forest, PA, picnics at her Mom and Dads, dancing competitively with her brother Gary, special trips to see her sons and trips with her daughter Lori. Janice loved her little yorkie Brutus, feeding the birds, tending to her fairy gardens and whipping up THE BEST Texas Sheet Cake for her family. Rather than saying goodbye, Mom’s favorite send offs were “SEE YA” or “BYE NOW” and she always followed it with a giggle.

The family would like to thank Lifecare Hospice Services of Wooster for the care they provided during Mom’s final hours at home.

Memorial service will be on Saturday, January 23 at 11am at Canaan Freewill Baptist Church, 12723 Cleveland Rd, Creston OH 44217.

Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later time.
