Richard D. Kiely of Florida, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at home. He was 81. The son of the late Daniel & Josephine Piemonte Kiely, he was born on June 14, 1939 in Queens, NY. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran; Past President of the Monroe Lions Club; past member of the American Legion Post 488, Monroe, NY; member of the American Legion Post 1250, Florida, NY; and a member of St. Joseph Church, Florida, NY. He was actively involved in the Boy Scout Troop 240, where he rarely missed an opportunity to lend a hand. He is survived by his wife Agnes Friscia Kiely; daughter, Eileen Piscitelli & husband James; son, Daniel Kiely & wife Stacy; 2 grandsons, James & Joseph Piscitelli; sister, Kathleen O’Neill; along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17th from 2-6pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Ave., Florida, NY 10921. A funeral mass will be held 10AM Monday, January 18th at St. Joseph Church, 20 Glenmere Ave., Florida NY 10921. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY. Due to COVID 19 restrictions and guidelines set forth from the state face coverings are required and the number of visitors allowed in the funeral home and the church are limited so we ask that those that may have to wait to enter please follow social distancing guidelines. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
