Barbara Loskota Harpole Corum Obituary

Barbara Loskota Harpole Corum passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones and her two cherished pet dogs on January 10th after a short battle with cancer. Barb was born in Granite Falls, Minnesota to Donald and Joan Haen Loskota. She grew up on a farm in Renville, Minnesota and attended Renville Public School, followed by St. Marys College in Minneapolis Minnesota where she obtained her nursing degree. She worked as a registered nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital and the Philips Eye Institute in Minneapolis. Upon moving to Tucson Arizona she worked at Tucson General Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a skilled and friendly nurse beloved by patients as well as coworkers for her ability to put anyone at ease and make them laugh. After she retired from nursing she worked part time as a cashier at Big Lots, where she made many friends. She loved doing crossword puzzles and sudoku, browsing thrift stores for a special treasure and giving thoughtful gifts to her friends and family. She was a voracious reader with an unforgettable sense of humor who loved staying up-to-date on current events and politics. A life long animal lover, she always made time to care for creatures big and small. Barb valued kindness and compassion above all. A favorite daily prayer was: "Empower us to seek the common good for all persons. Give us a spirit of solidarity and make us one human family." She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Azure and James Look, stepdaughter and husband Valerie and Mark Cooper, her grandchildren Dejon, Markaja and Mark Jr. and her great grandchildren Zane and Royal, her siblings and spouses Dave and Kim Loskota, John and Sue Loskota, Mary and Tim Berger, Steve and Lora Loskota and Joe and Tierza Loskota, Aunt, Dolores Haen Odland and many good friends including Kathy Nugent and Mark and Margaret Trautlein.
