Madeline Avey, age 82 of Joplin, Missouri passed away January 12, 2021 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born January 18, 1938 in Denver, Colorado to Herman and Mildred Heffnieder. Madeline work as caregiver. She attended Christ Point Church and Cowboy Church. She married Herman Avey Jr in 1969 and he preceded her in death in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Randy Reynolds and one brother, Herman Heffnieder. Madeline is survived by two sons, Phillip Avey and wife Brenda, Joplin, Missouri, William Gartrell, Joplin, Missouri; five daughters, Diana Coe and husband Cletis, Talala, Oklahoma, Laurie Ritchy and husband Terry, Webb City, Missouri, Paulette Evy, Joplin, Missouri, Pam Caviness, Joplin, Missouri, Debra Routledge and husband Jerry, Joplin, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday January 20, 2021 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary with Cletis Coe and Josh Pennington officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory Joplin, Missouri
