Michael Vincent Benedict Sr., 74 of Springfield, passed away January 12, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 12, 1946 in Springfield, the son of Vincent P. and Merle (Hill) Benedict. Mr. Benedict enjoyed Nascar, the Ohio State Buckeyes but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his loving family. He was retired from Navistar. Survivors include his loving wife; Saundra “Sandy” (Reed) Benedict, children; Michael (Maggie) Benedict Jr., Kim (Steve) Garrett, Cheryl Gabbard, Brian Benedict, Donald (Alexia) Cordle II (who Michel referred to as my bubba-son), and Shannon Gray, grandchildren; Cassi, Stevie, Billy (Brooke), Amber, Bubba, Audrey, Joseph, John, Kaitlyn, Frances, Jordan and Jessika, two great grandchildren; Zay ( his special buddy) and Zola, one sister; Lola Davis niece and nephew; Jeff Davis and Shelly Hopkins whom he dearly loved and special friend; Doreen Spach whom he thought of as a daughter. He was preceded in death by a sister; Rita Michchero and his parents. To honor Mr. Benedict ‘s wishes, there will be no services. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
