AUDREY JEAN JOE

Audrey Jean Joe, 36, of Twin Buttes, New Mexico, passed away January 9, 2021. She was born January 17, 1984 in Gallup into the Kinyaa'áanii Diné (Towering House People) for the Tódich'ii'nii Diné (Bitter Water People). Her maternal grandfather's clan is Dziłtł’ahnii Diné (Beneath the Mountain People) and paternal grandfather's clan is Haltsooí Diné (Meadow People).

After earning her high school degree in 2002, Audrey, a lifelong resident of McKinley County, enjoyed many hobbies, including hand crafts, cooking, gardening and raising her animals. She loved the company of her nieces and nephews and tried to spend as much time with them as she could. One of her greatest joys was to organize and host birthday parties and other family celebrations. Everyone knew Audrey to be a loving, kind, generous soul and she will be greatly missed.

 Audrey is survived by her parents, Arthur and Pearl Joe of Twin Buttes; sisters, Regina Robertson of Albuquerque, Audris Joe of Gallup, Donna Petersen of Phoenix, AZ, Ariana Joe of Albuquerque, and a half-sister, Roberta Heaton of Bernalillo; her fiancé Christopher Boylan of Santa Fe; her nieces Kaila Lueras of Albuquerque and Emily Petersen of Phoenix, AZ; her nephews William Marchant, William Boroviak, Jr., and Ryan Heaton.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jone C. and Annie Joe and maternal grandparents, Kee Tso and Clara Spencer.

Pallbearers will be Peter Robertson, William Boroviak, Sr., Simon Spotts, Brayan Hunch, Christopher Boylan, and Dr. Gary Vaughn, MD.

Honorary Pallbearers will be William Marchant, William Boroviak, Jr., and Arthur Joe.

A private funeral service to honor Audrey will be held at the Twin Buttes Church of the Nazarene in Gallup, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park cemetery. Daniels Family Funeral Services of Albuquerque is in charge of the arrangements.
