Rosemary Maureen Kick

<p>Rosemary Maureen Kick, formerly of Fairfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 12th, at UConn Health Center in Farmington, CT.&nbsp; Maureen, as she was always known, was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on January 30th, 1926, and entered New York City with her Scottish Mother and her Irish Father when she was six months old. They took up residence in the Chelsea section of New York City. She attended St. Patrick&#39;s Cathedral High School and St. Vincent&#39;s College in Riverdale, NY, where she majored in music and art. Maureen was a trained mezzo soprano.&nbsp; Before she married, she was a professional singer, performing at the U.S.O. for the servicemen during WW II.&nbsp; She met the love of her life, Albert George Kick, on a blind date. He served as a marine during the war and it was love at first sight for both of them when they met. They married eleven months later and were married for over 60 years. Maureen spent many hours volunteering at St. Augustine&#39;s Cathedral and Our Lady of Assumption Church, as well as singing in both choirs. Maureen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert, and her sisters, Kathleen Magee Jacoby and Pauline Magee Egan. She is survived by her five children, Maureen (Terrence) Osipow of Jupiter, FL, Kathleen (William) Sexton of Southport, Barbara Terrell of Fairfield, Patricia (Arthur) Korfin of Jupiter, FL, and Alan (Karen) Kick of Avon, CT, and thirteen cherished grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. At Maureen&#39;s request, please send any donations in her memory to St. Jude&#39;s Children&#39;s Hospital. The funeral service will take place on Friday, January 15th, at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield road, Fairfield, CT 06825 with a Mass of Christian Burial.
