Becky devoted her career to working for the Piikani Nation beginning with the Piikani garment factory, Peigan Policing and Judicial services, departments within the Piikani band administration such as Lands, and as an Administrative assistant. She had worked for the nation for over 30 years and devoted her time and training to her employment. Becky had tremendous pride in the Piikani Nation and always looked forward to the annual handgame tournament where she and her son organized and coordinated for a number of years. Becky always welcomed visitors and friends with a smile, handshake or hug. Rebecca loved to spend most of her time with her grandkids and family. She also travelled throughout North America playing handgames where she enjoyed meeting new friends, singing, playing tournament and big money games. Becky loved playing handgames alongside her late siblings Edward, Sharon and Phyllis, and more recently with her children Russ, Lisa, Claudia, Late Mike MGH and Tara, and the NP crew/family. She loved attending the annual World’s tournament in Siksika where she was often seen singing, dancing, screaming and was very competitive. Becky had several victories but was most proud of winning the World’s tournament with her late sister Phyllis and son Russ in 2013. One of the main highlights of handgames for Becky was singing alongside Russ and Tara. She was also an avid sports fan who loved travelling and cheering on her children and grandchildren in their sporting activities. Becky had a lot of pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who had their own unique talents. Wake services will be held at the residence of late Ernest and Bridget North Peigan’s residence on Saturday January 16 and Sunday January 17, 2021.
