Betty Jean Colburn

Norwich - Betty Jean Colburn, 82, passed away on January 9, 2021 after a long illness. Born in Lowville, New York on December 1, 1938, Betty was the daughter of the late Louis and Edith (Smith) Burke, and the loving wife of Allen Colburn for wonderful 42 years. Betty will always be remembered as a wonderful woman who brought joy to those who had the great pleasure of knowing her. In addition to her husband, Allen, Betty is survived by her sisters; Nettie Mothersell, Phyllis Dufrene, stepsister Charlene Schultz, and stepbrother Bernie Ayers. Her children; Mary Reneau, Caroline Smith, Norman Colburn, Lori Colburn, and Flo Colburn. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her stepson; Mark Colburn, brothers; Dexter Burke, Fredrick Burke, and William Burke, and stepbrother David Ayers and stepsister Lilly Ayers. A small memorial will follow at a later date for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woyasz and Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Avenue, Norwich CT, 06360 (860-889-1886) The Woyasz and Son Funeral Home of Norwich is assisting with arrangements.
