Jerry Lee Couch July 15, 1938 ~ January 9, 2021 Jerry Lee Couch, 82, of Jonesboro, passed away at 11:42 am on Saturday, January 9, 2021, in his Jonesboro home. He was born in Marion, July 15, 1938, to Clayton and Mildred (Campbell) Couch. On October 23, 1959 he married Lois Hamilton and she survives. Jerry graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1956. He worked as the engineering manager of Trans Industries in Marion until his retirement. Jerry was a member and past president of the Jaycees and had coached for Three Way Recreation Little League Baseball. He was also a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers for several years. Jerry was very proud of his accomplishments as an engineer and he had designed and patented equipment that went on the original space shuttle that went to the moon. Parts that Jerry had designed are on display at the Smithsonian. Jerry had completely remodeled his family home. He also cherished his 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible which he had entered into the Ducktail Run. More than anything, Jerry adored his family, especially his grandkids and animals. In addition to his loving wife, Lois Couch of Jonesboro, Jerry is survived by sons, Timothy (Sarah) Couch of Bloomington and Craig Couch of Gas City; daughter, Kristi (Dale) Pulley of Alexandria; granddaughters, Caitlin Couch, Megan Couch, Allison Couch, Kayleigh (Cody) Cook, Jocelyn (Erik) Jonas and Courtney Couch; grandsons, Connor Couch, Jonathan (Tessa Brewer) Pulley and David (Taylor) Pulley; great-granddaughters, Lilly, Madeline, Savannah, Elisabeth and Evelyn; great-grandsons, Thomas, Jameson and Samuel; sisters, Carol Sue (Darrell) Davis of Marion, Beverly Hueston of Jonesboro, Phyllis (Pete) Kolianos of FL and Sharon Sawyer of FL; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; close friend, Bo Timmons; and his loyal dog, Toby. He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Couch; mother, Mildred Couch Dailey; and his sister, Peggy Jo McPherson. The family will have a private visitation followed by a graveside service at Grant Memorial Park in Marion. Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E.
