It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, John Burchell on January 11th, 2021 at the C. B. Regional Hospital. Born in New Waterford on December 20, 1975, he was the son of Billy and Zita (O’Connor) Burchell. Dearest to John was his family, especially his nieces who he adored and his infectious smile captivated everyone he came in contact with. In his quiet mannerism, he had a circle of so many people that he surely loved. He found the good in everyone and never found fault with anyone. His daily walks to Tim’s and the people he met along the way made his day. A true Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan, he was wrapped in his throws and many memorabilia that were given to him during his illness. Many other happy moments were his trips to Toronto to visit his grandparents and family, the highlight of his life. After their passing his trips to Toronto became fewer but he welcomed his relations with open arms when they came to New Waterford. He had a special bond with his brothers and cousins along with uncles and aunts on both sides of the family. John will be forever loved and remembered by his parents, brothers Peter, Paul (Roseann), nieces Heather (Charlie), Shayla and grandniece Chloe, who brightened his day, He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents John and Belle O’Connor and paternal grandparents Peter and Berthina Burchell. Special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the C.B. Regional Cancer Centre, IMCU, Palliative Care, special thanks to Dr. MacCarville for his kindness and compassion shown to John and family; to special cousin Mary (O’Connor) Cassagnol who talked to him daily with encouragement and love until the very end.
