Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Deckard, of Bloomington passed away Sunday January 10th 2021 at her home surrounded by her family at Walcott Ln. Born July 21st 1933 she was the third of four daughters of Oscar and Margaret (Truax) Shultz of Gosport Indiana. Mary attended the Gosport school system along with her sisters. Mary was a homemaker most of her life but had jobs at Indiana University controller's office and a local nursing home receptionist. She was preceded in death by her husband John R. Deckard, father Oscar Shultz, mother Margaret (Truax) Shultz, sister Betty (Shultz) Dean, brother in law Minor Dean, sister Dorthy (Shultz) Sheese, brother in law Richard Sheese, brother in law Gene Fiddler. Mary is survived by her son Stephen Deckard, daughter in-law Kimberly (Rodgers) Deckard of Bloomington, two grandchildren, Heather (Deckard) Kinser of Bloomington, Erick Deckard of Bloomington, Three Great Grandchildren, Mikayla Deckard, Austin (Deckard) Young, Isley Deckard. One sister, Yvonne (Jody,Shultz) Fiddler of Cloverdale; numerous nieces, nephews as well as great nephews and nieces. And a great number of friends. Funeral Services will be privately held (due to Covid) on Thursday, January 14, 2021 and entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home-Whitaker Chapel in Gosport. Burial will follow at Hudson Hill cemetery.
