George LeRoy Hays, 50, of Vernon Township, died at his home Wednesday night following an illness of several months.  

 

Born in Allegheny County, he moved about nine years ago to Crawford County where he operated a service station and garage and more recently, the Beech Grove Motel on Route 19.  

 

He was a member of the Vernon Township Lions Club and the Vernon Central Hose Co.  

 

Survivors include his widow, Hilda Engel Hays; a son, George L. Hays, Jr. of Vernon Township; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. B. Hays of Findleyville; a brother, Benjamin of Elramo; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Bakori of Findleyville and two grandchildren.  

 

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. 

 

Interment was in Round Hill Cemetery.
