Helen May Chesnut

Helen May Chesnut, age 79, of Manchester, Tennessee, formerly of Corbin, passed away on Thursday January 7, 2021 at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio on February 21, 1941. Helen was a loving mother and grandmother who faithful served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She taught her family the joys of serving her Lord. Helen was very patriotic and was Pentecostal by faith and was a member of Corbin Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Still; mother, Marjorie Alice Skidmore Still; husband, Leonard George Chesnut; son, Roger Dean Chesnut; daughters, Phyllis Marie Bohn and Penny Sue Warren; brothers, David Still and Russell Skidmore; Sisters, Edna Marie Skidmore, Nellie Frances Skidmore, Deloris Baker, and Virginia Leslie Renner. Helen is survived by her brother, James Still (Sandra) of Portsmouth, OH; children; Karen King of Hamilton, OH; Jeff Chesnut (Tari) of Oxford, OH; Patricia Rodriguez of London, KY; Paula Evanski of Manchester, TN; Thomas "Tommy" Chesnut (Lauren) of Georgetown, KY; Brian Patrick Chesnut (Dani) of Corbin, KY; Michael Neal (Andrea) of Trussville, AL; and Mark Jones (Randi) of Georgetown, KY; 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on from 6-8pm on Monday January 11, 2020 and on Tuesday from 11am until 12noon at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Helen's funeral will begin at 12noon on Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Ronnie Smith Sr. and Ronnie Smith Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Cemetery in Corbin. Pall bearers will be Tommy Chesnut, Mark Jones, Brandon Azbill, Brian Patrick Chesnut, Brian Eric Chesnut, Jimmy Warren, Jeff Chesnut, and Jose Rodriguez. In consideration of the pandemic those attending are asked to wear a face covering and to social distance. The family asks that anyone not feeling well or uncomfortable being in a public area to consider watching the service when is shown on Facebook live on the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home Facebook page. The service will go live a few minutes prior to the start of the service at 12noon on Tuesday.
