Marie "Mary" O'Neill Obituary

Marie "Mary" O’Neill (nee Mukansky) Mary passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the age of 92. Mary was always a very strong woman both physically and mentally, living several years with advanced Alzheimer’s, but in the end unable to fight off the Corona virus. Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Sr., sisters Catherine Bernards and Joanne Carter, nephew David Carter, son-in-law Michael Donahue and great-grandson Blayse O’Neill. She is survived by her siblings, Jacob Mukansky, Bill Mukansky, Ruth Berry and Dan Mukansky. She will be deeply missed by her loving children; Chris Donahue, Sandy Tischer, Pat (Ned) Haese, John (Robin), Ken Jr. (Darlene), Tim (Theresa Abel), Mary (Ken) Childre and Kevin. Dearest grandmother of 13 grandchildren; Chad, Michael, Greg, Jenni, Carrie, Zachary, Darin, Darik, Ross, Cheyenne, Cullen, Connor and Sean. Proud great-grandmother of 13 great-grandchildren. Mary will be remembered as a kind, loving, hardworking, gentle woman, dedicated to raising her 8 children. She was a 1947 graduate of Girls Trade and Technical High School, where she learned the skills to become an amazing and creative mother and homemaker. Her children will never forget coming home from school to the aroma of her weekly 10 loaves of freshly baked bread or sitting around the large kitchen table doing homework and singing her favorite “old time” songs. Mary was an inspiration to all who knew her. Not one to relax in her “golden years”, she continued to take on new challenges…learned to drive a car in her 60’s, bowled into her 80’s, started a card club with friends, volunteered at the Veteran’s home and one of her greatest accomplishments, became President of VFW Post 1912 Ladies Auxiliary. She collected angel figurines and angel pins...she is now singing in the “Angelic Choir” above. Remember her with a smile! A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 15250 W. National Ave., New Berlin, from 2:00 PM until the Memorial Service at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
