Mt. Pleasant Ruby Jane Williams, age 83, passed away January 7, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. She was born in Stanly County on October 20, 1937 to the late Martin and Sarah Blackwelder. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Kenneth Furr and her second husband, Joseph Clayton Williams. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Mark Williams and Thelma & husband, Dave Moose; her grandchildren, Sara & husband, Clint Smith, Randi Moose, and Trevor Williams; her siblings, James & wife, Judy Blackwelder of Stanfield and Sue & husband, Olin Belk of Lincolnton. Ruby was known for her love of cooking. Every Christmas, she would make her very own Green Coconut Cakes and distribute them to all her friends and family. Ruby enjoyed sitting in her swing, bluegrass music, and spending time with her family. Anyone was welcome in her home at any time. A Celebration of Life for Ruby will be announced at a later date.
