Marilou A. Whipple

Marilou A. Whipple, 92, of Chilton, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was born December 26, 1928 in Chicago, Il to Earl and Lucille (Jaeger) Zipperer. She graduated from a Catholic High School in Oak Park, Il, then went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin Madison with her Teaching Degree. In March 1949 she was united in marriage to Richard Eugene Whipple in Oak Park, Il. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1999. Marilou taught Special Ed and reading in the Kettle Moraine School District. In later years she volunteered at the Lincoln Erdmann Elementary School in Sheboygan and Trinity Lutheran School in Potter, working in the reading and special ed departments. She also enjoyed the time spent volunteering at the Mead Public Library delivering books to shut ins and nursing homes, and at St. Vincent De Paul in Hilbert. Her family was very important to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren creating lasting memories. She is going to be missed by her beloved Sammy, a Catahoula she adopted from the humane society. Marilou is survived by her children; Mary Sue (Richard) Kasten of Bessemer, MI and Margo Millard of Chilton, by her three grandchildren; Sally (Carl) Squires, George (Jessica) Millard and Kenneth (Judith Amorsen) Kasten, by her great-grandchildren; Justin and Tori Squires, Sara, Alex and Jade Millard, and Mathias and Maja Kasten, and by her sister Sue Marston of Hoffman Estates, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Steven Kasten, and brother-in-law William Marston. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lakeshore Humane Society in Marilou’s name. A private family service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler.
