Phet Simthong Gastonia, North Carolina Obituary

Phet Simthong

Phet Simthong was born in Laos on April 8, 1953. She has elevated and transcended as an Ancestor on January 7, 2021, at age 67 in Belmont, North Carolina. When Phet was a young woman, she learned how to make foods specializing in desserts and made her living selling foods at the local market. She was very independent and used to ride her motorbike all over town. Phet is known as someone who is “dueh”- which means “always on the move, always making cash money, always in her joy”! Sahtu! She met her husband, Somphane Simthong, and told him she wanted to go to the “outside world”, and to a place where “she can see a lot of cars!” She came to the United States of America as a refugee with her husband. She was always business minded and helped her family own their first home, which is now being passed on to her children to sustain her Legacy. She teaches everyone about unconditional love, family, friendship, having fun, living your best life, and working hard! With a fraction of what most people have, Phet has created a full circle life of freedom, joy, family, travels, Legacy, and is the epitome of the American Dream. Her surviving family members are her husband- Somphane Simthong, her son- David Simthong, and her daughter - Linda Simthong. Service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of A Simple Service Burial and Cremation. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at the funeral home. May our sweet Matriarch, Phet Simthong, also known as Ma Thue Dae, rest in eternal Peace, Power, and Joy! She will forever live on in our jais / hearts and her Legacy will continue! Sahtu!
