Frank Peter Zarzeka
<p>Frank Peter Zarzeka of Exton, PA was born July 1, 1922 in Freeland, PA to his parents, Caroline (Sienko) and Stanley Zarzeka. He attended Weatherly High School. He also attended a one-room schoolhouse and joked that he skipped the 4th grade because no one else was in that row.</p> <p> </p> <p>Frank proudly served as a First Lieutenant in U.S. Marine Corps spending a year in Korea. He received a V-12 certification in aviation. Frank graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He believed in education and learning, continuing with advanced courses throughout his life.</p> <p> </p> <p>Frank started his Engineering career at Buchart Horn Architects, York PA, where he met his wife, Elizabeth (Crumbling), predeceased, marrying in 1952.</p> <p>Frank & Liz moved to Levittown, PA where he began a lifetime career at Rohm & Haas. Frank is survived by their 3 children: Ann and husband John Leahy of Philadelphia, PA, Frank Jr and wife, Bonnie (McCreary) of Poughquag, NY, and Michael and wife, Elizabeth (Tonks) of Newtown Square, PA. 10 grandchildren also survive him.</p> <p> </p> <p>Upon retirement, the couple relocated to Sanford, NC/Carolina Trace to relax and enjoy life, returning to Exton, PA in 2004. Frank became involved in Real Estate home inspections while in NC and was active in the social clubs and daily golf outings.</p> <p> </p> <p>Frank is also survived by 2 sisters living in Lansdale, PA, Helen Dabravalskie and Josephine Jupina and a brother, Anthony, in Quakertown, PA. A brother, Joseph, and a sister, Stella Kraynak, predecease him.</p> <p> </p> <p>Frank’s enjoyment of life included his obsession with golfing, gambling and God. He enjoyed these activities on a weekly basis, doing so until a few months prior to his passing on January 3, 2021 from the COVID virus. Frank was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus chapter in Levittown, PA.</p> <p> </p> <p>Frank is described by family and friends as rugged, with endless energy. He grew up on a farm and had a garden in his backyard every summer. Frank enjoyed the Jersey Shore and deep-sea fishing. He was always the engineer, single handedly constructing additions onto his homes and always in awe of architectural marvels. Frank had a positive outlook, loved people, and lived life to the fullest.</p> <p> </p> <p>Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Ss. Philip & James Church, 107 N. Ship Road (corner of Ship Rd & Rte 30), Exton, PA 19341. Times to be determined.
