Sunrise May 21, 1939 - Sunset December 29, 2020 Rutha Mae Sims was born on May 21, 1939 in Gainesville, Florida to the late Eartha Lee Spigner Sims and Ernest Sims. Her parents were blessed with six children of which she was the youngest. She passed away in Salem Hospital in Salem, New Jersey at the age of 81 due to complications of her dialysis. Rutha Mae never married but had one child, April Harris-Watford. “Ms. Vicki” as she was often referred to by the community at large, graduated from high school in 2010 receiving her GED at the age of 71. She considered it one of her greatest accomplishments. She also attended and graduated from the Philadelphia College of Bible. She loved traveling, shopping and gardening and served as an usher at Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton, NJ for many years. Rutha Mae retired from the Wheaton Glass Company in Millville, NJ as a mold polisher where she read blueprints in September of 1999. She was employed with the company for over 20 years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Patrick Sims and Knolton Sims and her sister Viola Sykes. Her memories will always be cherished by her daughter, April Harris-Watford; her son in law, Eugene Watford, Jr., grandchildren, Eugene Watford, III, Jamesia Harris and Nishae Harris, four great-grandchildren, her brother, Ernest Sims, Jr., her sister, Daisy Lee Spates and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and family and friends. Private graveside services were held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Millville where the interment followed the services. Arrangements were under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
