Mildred Lucille Pate Obituary

Mildred Lucille Williams Pate, 97, went to be with her Lord and her husband, on Tuesday morning, January 5, 2021.

Born July 13, 1923, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Elbert Fred Williams and Minnie Oats Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Pate, and her sister, Viola Haynes.  

Mrs. Pate had retired from Cannon Mills after more than 45 years of dedicated service. A charter member of First Wesleyan Church, she was the oldest church member. Mrs. Pate had a tremendous love for her Savior, her family, and especially children. She was the loving matriarch that guided her family daily. She loved people as Jesus loved them. Mrs. Pate and her husband always cared for the students going off to Wesleyan College. She had a special love for her niece, Linda Brown, and her 2 favorite nurses, Christy Sigmon and Karen Bostic. Although in a much better place today, Mrs. Pate will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Loving family members include her niece, Linda Brown, great nieces and nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services to remember and give thanks for the life of Mrs. Pate will begin at 3:00 pm Saturday, January 9, 2021, at First Wesleyan Church, conducted by Rev. Scott Wheeler, pastor. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, where Mrs. Pate will be laid to rest with her husband.
