Bernice J. (Inglis) Matano 82 of Clifton died peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2021. Born in Passaic, she resided in Clifton before retiring to Toms River for 10 years and returning to Clifton five years ago. A graduate of Passaic High School, Bernice was employed as a seamstress for Bendi & Sons in Passaic prior to her retirement in 2000. She was an avid Mets fan and bowler and loved to spend time at the Jersey Shore. Bernice is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Patrick A. Matano Sr. in 2015 and by a sister, Gladys Halpin. She is survived by a son, Patrick A. Matano Jr. of Butler, by two daughters, Gina Scaduto Zhitnick and husband, Mike and Debra Gentiluomo and husband, Rob all of Clifton, by six grandchildren, Dana Matano, Michael Matano and wife, Michelle, Lexi Scaduto, Kayleigh Zhitnick, Brandon and Bryan Gentiluomo and by two great grandchildren, Savannah and Antonio Matano. Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Friday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ followed by entombment at East Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-8PM. Memorial donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospitals are preferred to flowers.
