Jon Lockey, age 60 of Joice, IA, former of Traer, died Friday, January 1, 2021, at MercyOne in Des Moines. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory - Olson Chapel in Nashua with Rev. Drew McHolm officiating. Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua with Tony Wygle, Kevin Lockey, Nate Goolsby, Russell Jacobson, Thomas Baker, and T.J. Kubik serving as pallbearers. For those unable to attend you are invited to please join the family on Facebook Live at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021, on the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home Facebook page. For those attending in person, it is strongly recommended to practice social distancing and wear face masks to both the funeral and visitation. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021, prior to the funeral at Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory - Olson Chapel in Nashua. Jon Bryan Lockey was born on December 12, 1960, in Charles City, IA, the son of Wayne and Mary (Chase) Lockey. He graduated from Dunkerton High School on May 29, 1980. Jon married Kimberly Walker on July 10, 1988, at Saylorville Lakeview Recreation Park. The couple was later divorced. Jon worked at different parks in Iowa, Traer manufacturing then City of Cedar Falls parks department. He then moved to Joice. Jon was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying deer hunting with his father, two sons, grandson, and brother. He liked to go fishing and enjoyed teaching his grandsons how to stay still for the fish to bite. Jon is survived by his sons, Jason Lockey of Joice, IA, Kyle (Brittany) Lockey, and grandsons Myles and Izaac of Northwood, IA; step-son, Nathan Goolsby of Des Moines and step-daughter Samantha Tate of Forest City, IA; two brothers, Kevin (Donna) Lockey of Northwood, IA, Robert (Carol) Lockey of New Hartford, IA; aunts, Sophie and Evelyn Lockey of Nashua, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George, and Doris Lockey; step-grandfather, Lewis Dean; parents, Wayne and Mary Lockey; sisters, Georgette Jacobson, Angela Duren; brother, Bruce Lockey; aunt, Wanda Lockey.
