Nannie Isabel Hamm Obituary

Obituary: Nannie Isabel Hamm was born on July 22, 1938 to her mother Gracie Mae Dejerett-Miller and father Tom Miller in Halifax, Virginia. Nannie was the last living of her brothers and sisters who were Leeander, Marshal, Alfred, William, Wayne, Annie-Mae and Ida. They all lived on a farm in Halifax where they grew tobacco, fruits and vegetables. As a young girl she loved to sew and play softball with her siblings and friends. Too add, she was always a caring and considerate person to those who needed her most. She would always stick up for her friends as well. She stayed tough and brave even when she had got Rheumatic fever as a young girl. Even then God has stayed by her side and told her it wasn’t her time. Nannie had given birth to her first child Gwendolyn Annette Miller (Deceased), Rexell Lavance Miller. Nannie married Charles Hamm (Deceased) and had given birth to her last child Charles Hamm Jr. Afterwards she moved up North where she worked at Hahnemann hospital, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Not long afterwards, she moved to Newark, Delaware and worked at the University of Delaware where she retired. Around that time she had been given a valve for her heart and once again God given her more strength to continue on. She was also blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Grandchildren; from Gwendolyn Miller(Deceased), Tamika Miller and Ronald Omar Miller (Deceased). From Rexell Lavance Miller, Natasha Murray (Deceased). From Rexell and his wife Wendy Mari Miller; Pierre Lafate II, Rexell Lavance Miller II, and Latoria Mari Miller. From Charles Hamm Jr., Kareem Moore. Nannie was blessed with great grandchildren Eshay Miller,Toyeon Murray-Ross, Aniyah Murray,Savon Boddy, Oniyah Miller and Marquise Wilson. She received love from grandchildren, great grandchildren, family members and friends. Nannie also cherished her best friends Cerrilla Miller and Helen Green and a host of nieces and nephews. Along the way Nannie had moved around, and lastly stayed in Carney’s Point, New Jersey. One thing to note is that Nannie always loved to cook and would have family and friends come around her to sit down and eat with her. Nannie was always into the word of God. Towards the end she had learned, from the Bible, that she is one of God’s chosen children from the 12 tribes of Israel. She learned that she was a Hebrew Israelite and came from the tribe of Juda. She learned more of who she was according to God, or in this case Yahshua. Finally, God decided that Nannie had finished such a long fight and called her back home on December 28, 2020. Nannie will be missed dearly and we give all praises to the most high.
