William "Bill" Edward Dye, 76, of Leavittsburg, OH went to be with the Lord after fighting a courageous battle with a terminal illness, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 22, 1937 in Marion County, WVA, a son of the late Burie and Ruth Constable Dye. He married Marlene Jean Webb on June 23, 1958. He was an inspector with Copperweld Steel, retiring in 1994 after 36 years of service. Bill was a member of Leavittsburg Church of God, ASECU, life member of the Buick Club and Studabaker Club and a life member of the NRA. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge #186 and honorary member of the Southington American Legion Post. Bill loved spending time with his family and friends which he cherished immensely. He also enjoyed working on his farm, gardening, attending car shows and was an avid motorcyclist. Memories of Bill will be carried on by his loving wife of 56 years, Jean Dye of Leavittsburg, OH; son, William (Janice) Dye II of Cortland, OH; three daughters, Donna (Bob) George of Leavittsburg, OH, Debbie (Jr.) Cobb of Kinsman, OH and Denise (Ben) Sherman of Vienna, OH; grandchildren, Curt George, Alyssa (Adam) Phillips, Christopher Dye, Dayna Sherman, Carly Sherman and Haley Cobb; great-grandsons, Anthony George and Jaxon Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Dye. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Mark L. Rasey will officiate. Family and friends are kindly invited to visit from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Bill will be laid to rest in Pine Knoll Cemetery, Warren Twp., OH.
