Jean C. Beach

Jean C. Beach New Hartford/Holland Patent Jean C. Beach 82, of the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford and formerly of Holland Patent, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Presbyterian Home. She was born on January 25, 1934 in Utica. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Regina (Harris) Sullivan. She graduated from Utica Catholic Academy in 1951 and continued her education through St. Luke's School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. She continued working for St. Luke's in the Allen Calder Wing for many years and retired from Nursing in 1990 from the Presbyterian Home. On March 19, 1955 in New Hartford she was united in marriage to Michael Beach, a blessed union of over 32 years. Mr. Beach died on August 6, 1987. Jean was an avid bowler and reader who also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was also a faithful parishioner of St. Leo's and St. Ann's Catholic Church in Holland Patent for over 30 years. Jean took great comfort in her faith and took many trips with various church groups. It was her family, especially her grandchildren who brought much joy in her life. She is survived by her daughters Kelly Lanckton and her husband Clint of Holland Patent and Terri Finch and her husband Jay of Vernon; she also leaves a son, Daniel Beach and his wife Cathy of Newport, KY. She leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Michael Beach and his wife Betsy, Maureen Beach, Nick Lanckton, Riley Lanckton, Taylor Finch and Abigail Lanckton. She also had three great grandchildren that she was so proud of and adored; Jordyn Beach, Shawn Beach and Madelyn Beach. She leaves behind a sister, Ann Ketchum of Syracuse and many beloved nieces and nephews. She also leaves a very special cousin and her best friend, Carol Fuchs of New Hartford. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Terry Sullivan.The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of the Presbyterian Home, especially the Birch Unit including Armand and Trista for the wonderful care and compassion given to Jean during her stay there. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Leos and St. Ann's Catholic Church in Holland Patent. Interment will be in the spring in Townsend Cemetery.Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home 7944 Steuben St. in Holland Patent.
