Ronald Nelson Williams, age 78 of Douglasville, GA passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020.  He was born on July 12, 1942 to L.G. “Joe”  Williams and Christine Williams in Duluth.  A native of Douglasville, Ron attended Douglas County High School and graduated in 1960.  He then attended Southern Technical College where he graduated with a degree in Engineering.  Ron was a longtime member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he serviced as a deacon and treasurer for many years.  Ron is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Margie Williams; his sons, Randy Williams, Chris Williams, and Joseph Williams; his daughter in-laws, Lona Williams, Tiffany Williams, and Elena Williams; his grandchildren Savannah Williams, Madison Williams Jacob Williams, Abbey Sparks, Sutton Williams, Ivy Williams, Landry Williams and Chloe Williams; his sister, Sandra Tucker and her husband Thomas Tucker.  In addition to his love for the Lord, “Papa” enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, fishing and spending time with his family.  He was known by everyone for his kindness and generosity as well as his loving devotion to his wife Margie. The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Monday, December 28th, 2020 between the hours of 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. The Funeral Service will follow the visitation in Hightower's Chapel at 1:00 PM with Pastor Kenneth Hennesy officiating. The service will be streamed live via Hightower Family Funeral Home's Facebook Page.  You may access the link through the Tribute Wall of this webpage or directly through Facebook. Interment will follow in Union Grove Baptist Church in Lithia Springs. Pallbearers will be Neal Tucker, Matthew Landers, Britt Landers, Henry Timms, Bryan Elmore, and Gene Kendall.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Union Grove Baptist Church Steeple Fund or Cemetery Fund.  You may mail to 6517 Union Grove Road, Lithia Springs, Georgia 30122 or give online https://www.uniongrovebaptist.com/online-giving.   Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we encourage everyone to make the best decisions to remain safe.
