A. Juanita Gibbs - a Pendleton resident died on Friday, June 3, 2011 at her home. She was 88 years old. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 8th between the hours of noon and 5:00 P.M., and Thursday, June 9th from 8:00 A.M. to noon, at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 9th, at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton. She was born February 26, 1923 in Pendleton, Oregon. She was raised in Pendleton, where she also attended school. She graduated from Pendleton High School with the class of 1941. Juanita then worked as an Assistant Dietician at St. Anthony Hospital, where she met the love of her life. On August 21, 1948, she married Marvin E. Gibbs. The couple made their home in Pendleton, where their only child, Linda Lee was born on April 2, of 1950. She loved camping, knitting, and spending time with her family. She especially loved her cat Cuddles. She was a member of L.E.A. and Rebecca Lodge. Mrs. Gibbs is survived by her daughter Linda Bullock and husband John of Pendleton, OR, three grandchildren: Marvin Williams, John Bullock, Jr., and Kristina Guillmette, four great-grandchildren, and her beloved cat Cuddles. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Marvin E. Gibbs, and two brothers: Arthur Wright and Baby Boy Wright.
