Nina Davenport

Nina Abbott Davenport, age 90, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Jesus on December 14th, 2020. Daughter of the late William Cordy Abbott and Lettie Delight Kinlaw Abbott. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Charles Davenport and three children, Ron Davenport (Mia), Tim Davenport, and Tricia Alford. She was an amazing wife and mother as well as a special Nana to six grandchildren; Stephanie Davenport, Reid Alford (Tia), Morgan Alford, Rachel Jackson (Nathan), Tommy Davenport, and Jackie Davenport; along with four great grands; Lance Jones, Gaige Mabry, Wells Jackson, and Russell Jackson. She was preceded in death by her siblings Winnie, Clevlen, Kermit, Ruby, Claude, Meriam, Worley, William, Geneva, Austin, and Faye. Nina was considered a second mom to many and was known to be an exceptional homemaker, wedding planner, cake baker and decorator, floral arranger, seamstress, gardener, and Sunday school teacher. She also loved bowling, square dancing, softball, and tennis. She was a faithfully involved member of Lee Road Baptist Church for over 50 years. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Research.
