Mary Elizabeth Eadie Obituary

 Mary Elizabeth (Pearman) Eadie

September 30, 1922 - December 12, 2020

Mary Eadie passed away peacefully at home shortly before dawn on December 12, 2020.

She was born at Mannville, AB on September 30, 1922 to Augustus (Gus) and Elizabeth Pearman.  Mary attended MaryLake School near Derwent where she was raised along with her 3 brothers on the family farm.  She loved spring, and had many adventures in the outdoors. She often spoke of running through the hills of crocuses, and listening to the frogs in the nearby ponds.

Mom brought her love for the farm with her to Rimbey when she married the love of her life, Earl Eadie, whom she met at the New Norway Convention.  Their faith was their anchor, and the many friends that they met along the way at conventions and special meetings have meant so much through the years to them.  For many years meetings were held in their home.  Many workers have enjoyed the comfort and kindness found there.

Mom enjoyed many years volunteering in the community.  At the Rimbey Extended Care, she visited with the residents and annually invited them to the farm for an afternoon tea party.  She enjoyed hosting for the “old folks” although she was older than most of her guests. Mom also volunteered on the Board of the Rimbey Farmers’ Market.

She had a strong and admirable work ethic.  For years she had her crafts and baking at the farmer’s market every Saturday. Her passion for life, and the life lessons that she taught live on in each of us.

Mary is survived by her children:  Beth (Bruce), Kathy, (Michael), Kari-Lyn; John (Dana) Justin (Tanya), Jeffrey (Richelle), Jamie, Michael  (Rebeca); Susan (Brian), Brittany (Nickolas), Chelsea (Kristen), Colby (Natalie); Donald (Rolanda), Jayce, Kaiden, Carter; Angela (Lorne), Landon, Rylan, Aislan. She is also a beloved great granny to Kiara, Kalina, Aylish, Olivia, Josslyn, Riley, Avery and Haley.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and close friends and caregivers: Olga Calma, Honey Lyn Ting, Arlene Truca, Juana Rosete, and Judy Mark.

She was predeceased by her husband Earl in 2017, as well as her sister Doris, brothers Hugh, Charlie and Phil.

We wish to thank Dr. Rylance and Dr. de Bruyn as well as Rimbey Home Care for the care given to our mom. Donations in the name of Mary Eadie may be directed to Rimbey Long Term Care Centre, ℅ Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Box 440, Rimbey, Alberta, T0C 2J0
