Margaret Ann Staples, 89, of Fort Smith Arkansas passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 in a local nursing home, The Waters. She was born on December 15, 1930 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Harry and Fern (Gansemer) Knabe. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald A. Staples. Graveside services are 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at St. John's Cemetery of Nehawka, NE under the direction of Hammons Family Funeral Services of Weeping Water, Nebraska. She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Gray, of Cincinnati, OH and Donna Murphy of Fort Smith, AR; a son, Jeffrey Staples and his wife Marie of Kansas City, MO; a brother, John Knabe of Nehawka, NE and three grandchildren, Jason Murphy of Bethel Heights, AR and Emily and Danielle Staples both of Kansas City MO. Fort Smith arrangements are under the direction of Ocker-Putnam Funeral Home.
